I’ve always been drawn to things that carry a sense of history, the marks, imperfections, and subtle details that speak of a life well lived and the potential for a new beginning.

My work is about looking at materials differently. Where some might see old timber, I see history, texture, and possibility. Every piece of recycled wood I use has its own story to tell; nail holes, weathering, grain patterns, and subtle changes in colour are not flaws to hide, they are the very things that make each piece unique.
Much like a painter chooses colours from a palette, I select from a palette of timber sourced throughout Christchurch and the Canterbury region. I carefully combine these individual pieces, allowing their natural character to guide the design rather than forcing them into something they're not.
The result is artwork, furniture, and homeware that is not mass-produced or perfectly uniform and that is exactly the point.

Designed with purpose. Made with personality.
I believe the best pieces are the ones that create a connection. They should make you stop for a moment, notice the details, and perhaps even tell a story when someone asks, “Where did you get that?”

Whether it’s a piece of wall art inspired by a familiar Christchurch street, a handmade knife that becomes part of someone’s daily ritual, or a custom piece created specifically for a home, I want my work to feel personal. Something that belongs, rather than simply fills a space.
I’m a firm believer that good design doesn’t have to take itself too seriously. There is room for craftsmanship, sustainability, and a sense of humour all at once. If a piece can make someone smile, start a conversation, or bring back a memory, then it has done its job.

The details matter.
I’m a bit obsessed with the little things, the joinery that you might not immediately notice, the carefully chosen piece of timber that completes a design, the unexpected detail that rewards a closer look.
For me, making is not just about creating something functional or visually appealing. It’s about creating something with intention. Something that has been considered, cared for, and made properly.
In a world where so much is designed to be replaced, I’m passionate about creating pieces that are made to be enjoyed for years to come.

Made different, deliberately.
Every piece I create is made by hand, with a focus on sustainability, individuality, and craftsmanship. I don’t believe beautiful things need to be perfect, however, I do believe they could be meaningful.
The materials already have a story. My job is simply to help them tell it :)
